2012 Matty Prop!

2012 Matty Prop!

Ecto Goggles!!! The one item outstanding in my uniform is the goggles. Primarily because you can’t ship the frames to Canada for whatever reason. I haven’t been able to buy a pair. But now I’ll be able to order a bonafide genuine pair of goggles. granted they look like toys but with a little bit of effort – some skill with painting and a few addon’s they’ll be looking like new in no...

Slimer Sours

Slimer Sours

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Ghostbusters Boston America Corp was granted rights to release “Slimer Sours” a tin containing green sour candies, shapped like your favorite disgusting blob – SLIMER!. The tin is about the same size as your regular tin of shoe polish, with an embossed no ghost logo on it. Here are a bunch of images for you to check out. ( Click the images to enlarge) So I braved the candy, and I have to admit as cool as they look they did not taste very good at all to me. I mean.. whoa they were just awful, I had to spit it out it was that bad. Still I have a great tin and the candies look cool. They were kinda sour, but just mainly gross tasting lol. I picked up this bad boy at The Candy Shoppe up on Highyway 11 (Ontario Canada) on either side of the street. Just past Webers. They also had Ghostbusters wallets! They’re up near the good folks of MultiMediaMayhem. I’ll definitely be checking back in there. Aside from candies they had so many awesome...

Matty Trap 2011

Matty Trap 2011

This year at the SDCC which is going on whilst I write this post was the pivotal moment that MattyCollector wanted to unveil its next prop replica to follow last years PKE Meter. The GhostTrap!.. tons of pop culture references to ‘Its a Trap’ are sprouting up like clock work all over the net. Here are some photos that some of the fortunate folks at the Comic Con were nice enough to take. Oh how I wish I were there. There’s no details as of yet, as to what the prop will cost, I’m guessing $120 USD – at least that’s what I’d easily part with for the prop. I’ve heard through the grapevine that it’s shooting to be available for Halloween 2011, which will have this Ghosthead happy. I’ll have to keep my ears open for details. More of which should be coming in the next few days. I’ll update as I learn more. Updates 7/22/2011 Oct 2011: Ghost Trap Prop Replica for $135. (I wasn’t far off) Not sure the exact date but so many fans are going to be all over this thing. Its entirely made of plastic and has two modes, prop mode and movie mode. In prop mode you step on the peddle to get the door to open and lights to go on. If you switch to movie mode – this is where it really shines. The unit has all the sound effects and more advanced lights. It then simulates capturing a ghost right down to the part where the trap closes and then flickers inside and even shakes as though something was inside it. The Main section of the trap comes out just like your moving the ghost to the containment unit. The whole unit weighs in at about 2lbs (estimation). I can’t wait to get my hands on this...

Sanctum of Slime Review

Sanctum of Slime couldn’t have a better anagram S.O.S as this game is in need of some serious help. First they introduce new Ghostbusters, but they don’t do it in a way that has the original crew doing the intro’s which for me just didn’t do it. They use a comic book motif to explain the story and frankly avoid having to create costly cut-scenes was alright but I don’t think it was executed well enough. Sure the game is only 800 Xbox credits but I couldn’t be bothered. The controls were un-yieldy and personally I felt the overall game very amateur and un-polished. As a huge Ghostbusters fan I gave the game a try. In the first level alone the game play became repetitive and boring. And there wasn’t enough substance to the story to keep me interested. Sorry folks, and thanks for trying to add on to the Ghostbusters Franchise but this just doesn’t do it for me.. I’ll be turning a blind eye to this blemish in Ghostbuster-dom. I hope that if it does fail that it doesn’t kill it for Ghostbuster games as I just loved the last big game that came out with all the actors reprising their roles. I would love a sequel to that game. But this is just this Fan’s opinion. One up note is that with this game for the Xbox360 you can purchase a Ghostbusters uniform for your Avatar and Slimer or a Stay Puft. Which was cool. I did buy the uniform.. would be cool if it had the neutrona wand but still it’s a Ghostbusters uniform or close approx of...
