Ghostly Hand

Its not often that I get to post some ghost news that’s close to home but friends of mine passed this along so I know its on the level. Which is really cool and a little extra creepy for me. The story goes like this.. Here in Ontario, in a town of Elmira there was a home that had a fire and as a result was put up for sale. My friends husbands brother, bought the place to reno and then live in. So the two brothers start to work on the house. As they start to gut the walls the find that there is another section of the house that must have had a fire previously as the joists in that part of the house have fire damage in it. As many renovators do, they started to take pictures and shoot video to log their progress and to have a record of how much work they did. It was after reviewing a video of what was just supposed to show the dry wall they had to put up.. they noticed this hand in the last few sections of the video reaching across some of the house framing (the right most part of the screen). Make sure when you view that the video is in HD for best...

Ghosts left in the wake of Japans Tsunami

The Japanese tsunami of 2011 has left some so traumatized that they now believe they see ghosts. Ever since the disaster in March 2011 which claimed more than 19,000 lives, tales have surfaced of ghostly figures and specters lined up where shops once stood. Some people have turned to exorcists to help deal with these visions, but psychologists have expressed concern that the sightings, far from being evidence of visitors from the grave, are actually a mental projection of the fear and distress the experiencer associates with the disaster. “The places where people say they see ghosts are largely those areas completely swept away by the tsunami,” said psychiatrist Keizo Hara. “We think phenomena like ghost sightings are perhaps a mental projection of the terror and worries associated with those places.” The tsunami that engulfed northeastern Japan two years ago has left some survivors believing they are seeing ghosts. In a society wary of admitting to mental problems, many are turning to exorcists for...

Family guests attacked by ghost

Back in April this year(2013), a French family from Mentique-Nortbecourt France, alleges they have sustained injuries from flying objects at their home (which they believe to be haunted by ghosts). The residents of the home say a family member was hospitalized earlier this month after being struck by a chair in the face and a soap tray in the back. The mother told France 3 television a friend had to be hospitalized this week after being struck by stones thrown by the haunting spirits. The family were given temporary lodging in a campsite by local officials. The father reports the Nord-Pas-de-Calais regional council is working to find them a new home. The family said an exorcist from the local diocese has been visiting the house in an attempt to banish the spirits but if they’ve been successful has yet to be seen. The refuse to set foot back in that house regardless of the outcome....

Japan’s Prime Minister denies Ghosts

The Japanese government has issued a formal statement denying knowledge of any rumors that the prime minister’s official residence might be haunted by ghosts. Shinzo Abe has yet to move into the dwelling months after he became PM in December of 2013, prompting lawmakers to question his thinking. Since this is this PM’s second spell in office after he resigned in 2007 amid illness and scandals, some have wondered if he had a bad experience last time he stayed at the residence. In a letter of inquiry, said the Asahi Shimbun, Ken Kagaya of the rival Democratic Party asked if ghosts are the reason Abe is yet to move in. The Cabinet issued a curt response saying that it was “unaware” of any such rumors. Built back in 1929, the residence was formerly used as the prime minister’s office and has a dark history. One prime minister was assassinated there in 1932, and four years later several officials were killed in an attempted military coup known in Japan as the February 26th Incident. Rumors of hauntings have long shrouded the residence, and the idea has come up on more than a few occasions in Japanese political discourse. Former prime minister Junichiro Koizumi, as an example, told reporters in 2006 that although he wanted to see a ghost there, he never managed to. Abe’s predecessor Yoshihiko Noda echoed Koizumi’s experiences, confessing to the Wall Street Journal last year that “the parliament is much more scary.”...

Hose Connector’s Buyers Beware

Hose Connector’s Buyers Beware

On the flight suit that the Ghostbusters wore there is a hose that comes out of the upper thigh. In Ghostbusters it was a yellow hose and in Ghostbusters II it was a clear hose. There’s a ton of speculation as to the purpose of this hose, some of my friends joke that it’s for urine if you got scared enough, while others suggest its for some kind of cooling system. The fact of the matter is that no one really knows, and I suspect that was part of it ‘Leave them guessing’. However all that aside if you’re going to make an authentic looking suit you’re going to need to have that hose and it needs a connector to the suit. There are two connectors that I know about and here is my two cents about them. Multimedia Mayhem Hose Connector This is the kit that I purchased from Multimedia Mayhem. The hose was great, a little long and needed trimming but this would be based on your height so I don’t consider it an issue. That said the tan hose connector is solid resin. And it’s heavy! I had used the convenient holes on the connector to sew it to my uniform but the weight of it pulls at the suit and the stitches all the time. When you walk you can feel it bouncing around against your leg. Plus it’s solid so you bang that bad boy against something and you’re gonna feel it, if you don’t break it. A pro for this is that the hose fits perfectly in there and it ‘looks’ accurate. http://www.multimediamayhem.net/uniformaccessories.htm gbfans.com Rubber Hose Connector The folks over at gbfans.com have a rubber connector for sale. And this is definitely more screen accurate. I haven’t received the connector yet but I have ordered it. I’ve heard from several folks that purchased it that it is lighter, which is 90% of why I’m buying it. I’ll be sure to post more information when I actually get my hands on it. But I am excited about the prospect. http://www.gbfans.com/shop/uniform/tan-rubber-uniform-hose-connector/ Update Sad face – the hose connector that I ‘Thought’ was a rubber connector didn’t pan out that way,...

Ivan is Biz’eh in 2013!

Well, turns out some folks in Hollywood wanted Ivan “Ghostbusters” Reitman to get working on his new football film “Draft Day” but Ivan said sorry I can’t because I’ll be shooting GHOSTBUSTERS III in 2013 and then they were all like ‘for reelz’ and he was like “totally.. I need to make this film so that no one else butchers it”. okay maybe he didn’t say that.. but he did say the other stuff. Well not verbatim but if I may be allowed to paraphrase. The fact is that there is more movement on this and despite the hoards of nay-sayers out there. I have never lost faith that the film will happen. I think that Dan is going to just surprise the hell out of all of us and that’ll lead to another video game and that’ll be awesome. Frankly – If I may be permitted the opportunity to say.. I think that Ghostbusters would make a great 1 hour television program. I mean the special effects arn’t anything horribly off budget if you compared it to something like Buffy or Stargate – even things like supernatural. Seriously – I think this would be an awesome show. Lots of big stars are hitting the small screen. But that’s my two cents. cheers...

Haunted US Campuses

Keene State College: Huntress Hall According to school lore, Huntress Hall has been haunted ever since the ghost of its namesake, Harriet Lane Huntress, learned that the dorm — designed to house 157 females — was transformed into co-ed housing during WWII. Apparently upset by the gender imbalance, Huntress has continued to creak about on her ghostly (but, according to Keene State students, loud) wheelchair in the hall’s attic to this day. St. Mary’s University of Minnesota: Heffron Hall In 1915, Bishop Patrick Heffron was shot to death in a chapel on St. Mary’s campus by a bitter Father Lesches, who was later institutionalized at the Minnesota State Hospital for the Dangerously Insane. St. Mary’s students believe that Heffron hall has been haunted by its slain namesake since it was built in 1921 — they say the ghost of Bishop Heffron has been spotted on the third and fourth floors of the residence hall and that he is responsible for unexplained drafts. Hamilton College Hamilton students believe that both the Alumni House and the admissions building are haunted by the ghosts of families who used to live there. Fordham University Fordham’s hauntings almost go without saying — the Jesuit University is built atop spooky sites like Rose Hill Manor and a former hospital. Students have reported paranormal activity throughout the campus, but especially in Keating Hall. Those who’ve felt a ghostly touch or seen an ephemeral vision believe that Keating was built on old morgue tunnels. Wells College More than one room in Main is haunted, according to Wells College legend. Not only was it allegedly the site of a campus hospital during a flu epidemic — it was reportedly a temporary morgue for those students who could not be saved. In addition, Maine supposedly housed students who suffered untimely deaths, by fire or their own hands. East Tennessee State University Some say that “practically every building [at ETSU] can boast at least one resident ghost.”. Students say that the ghost of the university’s first president, John Gilbreath, roams the campus, and that the spirit of a former librarian guards books in the library, among other ghostly beings who call ETSU their home. Set of Liberace Movie Haunted

Set of Liberace Movie Haunted

Matt Damon and Michael Douglas are said to be convinced that their new movie set is haunted. The two stars have been shooting for ‘Behind the Candelabra’, which is about the life of famed pianist Liberace. The duo is convinced that there is some supernatural activity going on around them and a male spirit has been watching them work. “The movie centres around Liberace’s last years with his young bodyguard/live-in lover, Scott Thorson, and several times during filming, Damon and Douglas turned to each other after a scene and said, ‘Did you feel that?,” News.com.au quoted a source as telling National Enquirer. They swear they’ve felt cold damp air swish by, reeking of a potent men’s cologne. Douglas portrays Liberace in the release, while Damon plays the role of Scott. Douglas has spent a lot of time behind the piano while shooting scenes for the TV movie and it is then when he felt the presence at its most intense. “He actually felt someone caress his shoulder,” the insider said. “He whipped around – but no one was there! Not only that, but on several occasions prop lights flickered uncontrollably,” the source added. Frankly this Ghosthead is still very sceptical about this but it just goes to show that it can happen to anyone....

Shadow People

Shadow People

So a lot of people are checking out the phenomenon of shadow people. But what are they? Ghosts, Inter-dimensional beings, or something altogether new? Have you ever been sitting comfortably on your couch reading in the dim light when movement across the room caught your attention. It seemed dark and shadowy, but there was nothing there. You returned to your reading – and a moment later there it was again. You looked up quickly this time and saw the fleeting but distinctly human shape of the shadow pass quickly over the far wall… and disappear. But what was that? Some trick of the light? Your heightened imagination? A spirit? Or was it something that seems to be a spreading phenomenon – apparitions that are coming to be known as “shadow people” or “shadow beings.” Perhaps this is an old phenomenon with a new name that is now being discussed more openly, in part thanks to the Internet. Or maybe it’s a phenomenon that, for some reason, is manifesting with greater frequency and intensity now. Those who are experiencing and studying the shadow people phenomenon say that these entities almost always used to be seen out of the corner of the eye and very briefly. But more and more, people are beginning to see them straight on and for longer periods of time. Some witnesses testify that they have even seen eyes, usually red, on these shadow beings. What are shadow people, where do they come from?   Here are some theories offered. Shadow people fit into many different paranormal categories, ghosts / hauntings being only one. However, many shadow people encounters do seem to mirror ghost encounters and are the most common [type of] shadow person encounters: a blacker-than-night, human-shaped shadow that people see walking through their bedroom, hallway, living room, etc. These shadow people are the most benign, usually not taking notice of those who observe them. And would fit in to what has been called a residual haunt, where spiritual energies are stuck on repeat at that spot usually due to some kind of strong emotional event that has occurred there. THE MIND The explanation we get from skeptics and mainstream science – and who are usually...
